In this day our liberation war began. After 9 months of bloody war we achieved our independence. So, it is a memorable day for all Bangladeshis. History Of Bangladesh Independence
Now i am going to tell you the history of our independence. As a citizen of Bangladesh it is your duty to know the history of Bangladesh.
Language Movement In 1952
India gained independence in 1947 from The British. Two new states were born under the Indian Governing Law of 1947. The first one was India and the 2nd one was Pakistan. Since the birth of the state of Pakistan, there has been little disagreement with state language of Pakistan. Though most of the Pakistan’s native tongue was Bengali, the Pakistani Government wanted Urdu language. In such situation Mohammad Ali Jinnah declared that Urdu would be Pakistan’s only official language. After that announcement the students broke down and they called for a strike. In this situation Pakistan Government issued 144 clauses but our students could not obeyed . So they broke the 144 clauses. As a result Pakistani Police were forced to shoot at them. Many students were killed in Police Firing that day. We celebrate 21 February as Saheed Dibos and it is also known as International Mother Language Day.
Six Point Movement in 1966
The Six Point Movement is an important topic in the history of Bengal. Six-point Programme a charter of demands enunciated by the awami league for removing disparity between the two wings of Pakistan and to put an end to the internal colonial rule of West Pakistan in East Bengal.

25 March 1971 was a horrible day for all Bangladeshis. The violence resulting from operation Searchlight led to the Bangladesh Liberation War. It was planned military operation carried out by the Pakistan army . The Pakistan Army attacked
Bengali people.

How Do We Celebrate Independence Day ?
26 March is our Independence Day. It is a public holiday. On this day our country looks so beautiful. Because it is the biggest festival in our country. We celebrate the day annually. All schools , college, Banks are decorated brightly. In the morning all students go to their institute .Then they have to attend on Rally. After that everyone sings our National Anthem. Our National Flag is being hoisted top on this day.
